Italian Recipe Ideas for this Year’s Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is just around the corner. What turkey and ham dishes will you do this year. Why not try something a little different and add some traditional Italian Thanksgiving ideas into the mix.
Thanksgiving cooking normally revolves around the turkey, stuffing, potatoes, corn and the ever popular pumpkin pie! Instead of the normal menu, throw in a pork and Italian ham dish with a nice side of sweet potatoes. This new combination is sure to be a hit with the family. This is a great new addition to your Thanksgiving dinner recipes.
At my family Thanksgiving, a classic Caesar salad starts off the night. Instead of this traditional American salad, we tried a new zesty Italian salad with sliced salami. The salad was a huge success and was one of my best Thanksgiving ideas! Pre-sliced salami allows for you throw the salad together quickly and concentrate more on the main dish!
In my box of recipes, under my “Italian” section, I came across my penne with spicy sausage recipe. Penne pasta is the perfect Italian dish to serve at Thanksgiving! This dish can go with anything. Try looking under “Salsiccia Calabrese” or “soppressata” for the spicy sausage.(These are the more common names for that type of sausage.) Your Thanksgiving cooking will never be the same after tasting this golden recipe!
The final step of your Thanksgiving dinner is picking out the right wine. If you want the perfect wine, be sure to check out wine salami! Some great wine options are Pinot Grigio, Rose and Chianti. Each wine really showcases the flavors in all of your Italian side dishes!
